Sinterklaas and Santa Claus are competitors, always have, always will. Sinterklaas may be relatively unknown abroad, but here in Holland he is world famous. He brings presents for the children who give carrots for his horse Amerigo in return. Sinterklaas rides the rooftops at night to deliver the goods. He is helped by his aides who, seen outside of their context, paint a somewhat unusual and surely controversial picture. It is like a fairy tale, so we should all take it with a pinch of salt, I guess.
