Okidoki is not among us anymore. This spectacular horse became a legend with his rider Albert Zoer, was sold earlier this year to José Larocca and sustained a tendon injury not long after that. He died as a result of complications after an operation on this injury.
Just to remember this great horse; here are the images we have. We received this press release: PRESS RELEASE 21 JULY 2010 SHOWJUMPING LEGEND OKI DOKI PASSES AWAY The owner of showjumping horse Oki Doki announces the passing of his much loved steed. The bay 14 year old Dutch bred gelding injured a tendon while competing in Cannes in June this year. The horse subsequently underwent surgery and recovered well. Oki Doki was on post operative medication, following standard procedure, but last night developed complications. He was placed immediately under veterinary monitoring and was then transported to Bern Clinic by the veterinary team who never left his side. Despite the best possible veterinary care, tragically Oki Doki died due to septic shock in the abdomen. Oki Doki was a celebrity in the showjumping community and loved by people all over the world, but most of all by his owner and former owner/rider Albert Zoer, whom have been working together since ownership of the horse changed. Oki Doki's family hopes that you respect their privacy during this time of sorrow. END OF PRESS RELEASE |
