While in the USA on his latest trip Arnd visited long time friends Kathleen Raine and David Wightman. Kathleen, a top level U.S. dressage rider for a long time, was a member of the U.S. team at the World Equestrian Games in the Hague, Netherlands with Avontuur (KWPN), now retired. With the KWPN mare Fidelia the pair were alternates for the U.S. Olympic dressage team for Sydney, Australia in 2000.
David was the Chef d’ Equipe for the U.S. Young Riders Team; he is a Grand Prix rider himself and he knows how to spot a good young horse. But now Kathleen has a horse that we should all pay attention too: Breanna. Some horse that is! A large framed Hannoverian mare with fantastic movements. She really performed for the camera. Of course it only counts when it happens at the show, but what she showed was very convincing. Arnd can't wait to see her in the international competition ring! |
